Ibrahim Domian, MD/PhD, Welcomed as Scientific Advisor at Cell Applications, Inc.
SAN DIEGO, June 18, 2016 -- Today Cell Applications Inc. announces the addition of its fourth Scientifc Adviser, Dr. Ibrahim Domian.  As a physician-scientist with broad interest in cardiac development and stem cell biology, his laboratory focuses on developmental processes that control cardiac progenitor expansion, differentiation, and maturation.  To address these goals, his group combines tissue engineering with pluripotent stem cell biology to develop in-vitro models of cardiac development and disease.  Dr. Daniel Schroen, a Vice President at Cell Applications, adds, "When I met with Ibrahim at his office, his excitement about the potential clinical implications of basic science was evident.  While CAI's products and services are intended for research only, his appointment reminds us that findings from the laboratory can ultimately lead toward advancements in medical application." Dr. Domian obtained his MD/PhD from Stanford University School of Medicine, and completed his medical internship, residency, and cardiology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  He joined the faculty of Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in 2009, where he is now an Assistant Professor in Medicine.  He is Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.
