Human Umbilical Artery Smooth Muscle Cells (HUASMC) are isolated from normal human umbilical arteries. They are cryopreserved at second passage and can be cultured and propagated at least 16 population doublings. Umbilical artery smooth muscle cells have been used as an economical alternative for the study of morphological and structural changes in the development of atherosclerosis1,2.
