Human Umbilical Artery Smooth Muscle Cells, HUASMC

Human Umbilical Artery Smooth Muscle Cells (HUASMC) are isolated from normal human umbilical arteries. They are cryopreserved at second passage and can be cultured and propagated at least 16 population doublings. Umbilical artery smooth muscle cells have been used as an economical alternative for the study of morphological and structural changes in the development of atherosclerosis1,2.

Each lot tested negative for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C and negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, fungi.

2nd passage, >500,000 cells in Smooth Muscle Cell Basal Medium containing 10% FBS & 10% DMSO.
Kit contains:
Ampoule of cryopreserved HUASMC (252-05n), 500 ml Smooth Muscle Cell Growth Medium (311-500), and a Subculture Reagent Kit (090K).
Proliferating Cells:
 
Shipped in Smooth Muscle Cell Medium at 3rd passage in either flasks or multiwell dishes.
Population doublings:
Can be cultured at least 16 doublings
