CAI Launches Serum- & Xeno-Free versions of its Human Mesenchymal Stem Cell Media

SAN DIEGO, July 14, 2015 -- To further optimize culture of Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells, Cell Applications, Inc. introduces Serum- and Xeno-Free versions to its line of HMSC Media. The optimized formulations reduce variation, increase reproducibility and facilitate expansion. For particular applications, HMSC growth in Serum- and Xeno-free media surpasses that of cells cultured in classical serum-containing medium. SFM and XFM also support long-term growth and expansion while maintaining multi-lineage differentiation potential.  The Serum-Free HMSC Medium provides robust cell growth without serum supplementation, while the chemically-defined Xeno-Free version contains only constituents of known molecular structure, enhancing the management of research and manufacturing variables.  HMSC uniquely proliferate as self-renewing, undifferentiated cells, yet can also be induced to differentiate into Adipocytes, Chondrocytes, and Osteoblasts in vitro.
