Cell Applications, Inc. Introduces 3-D Cell Models
SAN DIEGO, June 15, 2015 -- In response to the growing need to replace expensive animal models with physiologically relevant 3-D tissues, Cell Applications announces the introduction of three dimensional cellular models for pharmaceutical drug discovery and life science research.  Dr. David Yu, CAI Vice President of Business Development adds, “Our three-dimensional cell systems include an Airway model of Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells, which differentiate into a pseudostriated epithelium, and a Skin Model of Human Epidermal Keratinocytes differentiated into stratified squamous epithelium.  Both serve as highly physiological 3D tissue models for in vitro studies, providing excellent cellular systems to study epithelial function and disease.”  The models are created by growing cells on inserts and providing them with a liquid/air interface and proper culture conditions.  Contact Cell Applications for further information on the 3-D Airway Model (HBEpC), Cat. # 502-3D and the 3-D Skin Model (HEK), Cat. # 103-3D.
