Human Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells (HCAEC) are isolated from normal human coronary arteries. They are cryopreserved at second passage and can be cultured and propagated at least 15 population doublings. The endothelium are crucially involved in the regulation of coronary blood flow and cardiac functions, such as thrombosis1,2, atherosclerosis3, and hypertension4. Strategically located between the circulating blood and the vascular smooth muscle, endothelial cells release numerous vasoactive substances regulating the function of vascular smooth muscle and trafficking blood cells5. HCAEC is an ideal candidate for the studies of endothelial cell metabolism and functional vasodilators, such as prostacyclin, bradykinin, nitric oxide and independent of the former endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor5. Co-culturing HCAEC with human coronary artery smooth muscle cells (HCASMC) could generate an in vitro model for the cell-cell interaction system3.

Proliferating Cells:
 
Shipped in Growth Medium at 3rd passage in either flasks or multiwell dishes.
Population doublings:
Can be cultured at least 15 doublings
