Rabbit Skeletal Muscle Cells (RbSkMC) are derived from the skeletal muscle of the rabbit limb and are cryopreserved at second passage. RbSkMC can be passaged at least 15 population doublings. Muscle diseases can occur in rabbits with clinical presentations resembling human disorders, thus the Rabbit system can be a valuable intermediate disease model1,2. The Rabbit model has been used to study the effects of hypoxia3,4,5, ischemia6,7, and hemorrhagic shock8 on skeletal muscle. RbSkMC represent an in vitro cellular system to study the effects of diet on skeletal muscle9,10,11.
