Human Tracheal Epithelial Cells, HTEpC

Human Tracheal Epithelial Cells (HTEpC) are derived from the surface epithelium of normal human trachea. They are cryopreserved at first passage and can be cultured and propagated at least 16 population doublings. Airway epithelial cells are targets in asthma, viral infection, and fibrotic lung disease. These cells have been used to study the regulation of intracellular pH1, the stimulant effect of IL-1b on airway epithelial cell growth2, and the effect of human rhinovirus infection in terms of upregulation of ICAM-1 expression on epithelial cells3.

Characterization: Typical epithelial cell morphology.
 
Each lot tested negative for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C and negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, fungi.

Cryopreserved ampoule:
1st passage, >500,000 cells in Basal Medium containing 10% FBS & 10% DMSO.
Kit contains:
Ampoule of cryopreserved HTEpC (504-05a), 500 ml Growth Medium (511-500), and a Subculture Reagent Kit (090K).
Proliferating Cells:
 
Shipped in Growth Medium at 2nd passage in either flasks or multiwell dishes.
Population doublings:
Can be cultured at least 16 doublings
